As of the 13th of November 2019, we received a Newsflash from the Department of Housing and Public Works advising certifiers that we no longer are required to obtain certificates for plumbing under the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 (PDA).
Local governments are responsible for administering requirements of the PDA relating to plumbing and drainage in their designated areas under section 135 of the PDA. Because the work is being regulated by local governments under the PDA, certifiers no longer need to certify or inspection this work when assessing building work under the Building Act 1975 (BA).
We have removed Plumbing Form 16s from our list of required certificates and are no longer requesting them at the final stage inspection. As certifiers, we do not inspect or certify work that is regulated by the PDA and no longer need to request certificates from PDA licensees.
If you have any questions about these new developments, give us a call 07 4054 4588 or send us an email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, visit the Department of Housing and Public Works website.
