We often get asked, why can’t I just build-in under my house? It’s under the roof. Yes, it’s under the roof but unfortunately, there is a lot of issues or a number of issues that need to be considered when in closing underneath an existing building. A lot of the times the building is not the right height underneath, maybe it’s only 1.8 meters high. A minimum of 2.4 meters is required for habitable areas. Finished floor levels must be at least a minimum of 225 above the finished ground level. Potentially higher if you are in a Q100 flooding inundation overlay, and the external walls must be weatherproof and waterproof. You can’t just build it out of any old thing.
